Étude | Concert Snare Stick
Description
The Artifact Étude sticks are the first of their kind in the orchestral percussion world. The conical hourglass shape of the bead, as well as the long taper, make the Études a very quick pair of sticks that do a ton of the work for you. The large surface area of the bead allows for smooth, easy rolls, while the unique shape makes articulation a breeze, even at softer dynamics. With the long taper and relatively large grip diameter, you're getting a well-balanced pair of sticks that encourage a comfortable grip and relaxed technique. The 100% solid American Hickory makes these sticks very durable and capable of producing a big, full sound out of the drum when needed.
While we were testing the first couple pairs of these, we started calling them "the étude sticks" because of how flawlessly they perform in the full range of snare drum study. We couldn't really find anything that they just couldn't do. They are true workhorses. The name stuck and they're now loved by many people using them in many different playing situations and styles and at every different skill level. They're perfect for étude and solo work including Delécluse, Tompkins, Wilcoxin, and Pratt. Excerpt wise, we've used them for everything from Kijé to Scheherazade.
