The story
Behind the Olympic
The Wanderlust Series brings traditional timpani mallet construction together with the attention to detail we expect from every Artifact product. Designed as an accessible European-style option, each pair is handcrafted with premium German timpani felt and carefully selected handles for a refined feel and response without the traditional $90+ price tag.
Where our Sleight of Hand Series takes a modern approach with entirely synthetic wrap materials, the Wanderlust Series returns to tradition. Each model features German felt sourced from the authentic source for timpani mallet felt, paired with hand-selected, single-knot Tonkin bamboo.
Every bamboo handle is pitch-matched and weight-matched to the gram, then fully finished and sealed for a smooth, satiny feel in the hands.
Wanderlust models are also available with tapered woven carbon fiber handles. Their balance and consistency make them a distinctly different alternative to bamboo, while a high-gloss finish provides a secure feel in the hands - even when things get sweaty.
