Hydra | 3/4" Phenolic w/ Brass Insert | Very Hard
Description
Hydra was the nine-headed mythical sea beast slayed by Hercules as the second of his twelve labors. Our Hydra glockenspiel mallet is a smaller version of our Hercules. The smaller-diameter and lighter-weight ball makes for a mallet that allows you to move across the instrument without sacrificing clarity in faster sections of the repertoire. Try it for the opening of La Mer and listen to the sound sample for the tricky 16th-note passage in the 2nd Mvt.
