Tim Laguna resides in Chino California and holds an Artist’s Diploma and a Masters degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Redlands. During his time at the UoR Tim was a graduate assistant to Bill Schlitt and was in charge of running the University Percussion Ensemble as well as maintaining the percussion equipment and developing a storage system that would fit the needs of the university. Tim was consistently asked to perform for UoR events including the President’s Honors Recital and several outreach events to promote the university. Tim received his Bachelors in Music Education from Cal Poly Pomona.

Tim is an in-demand educator who spends most of his time as the Percussion Director at Eleanor Roosevelt HS, overseeing both the marching percussion and concert percussion programs, as well as the private lesson studio. Many students under Tim’s direction win positions in local honor bands and are able to audition into the college music program of their choosing. The percussion program houses two indoor concert percussion groups that compete in the PSCA and PSCW divisions and several small chamber percussion groups. Tim is the current music designer for the indoor concert ensembles. In addition, he also works at Jurupa Hills HS as a writer and front ensemble caption head. Tim is also on staff with the Gold Drum corps front ensemble.

As a performer, Tim is currently the principal percussionist with the Gold Wind Symphony in Eastvale, CA and has performed with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, South Coast Symphony, the Inland Master Chorale, the Angeles Choir, Idyllwild Arts Academy ensembles, and several smaller venues and groups in the SoCal region. He also plays percussion and drum set with his brother Chris Laguna when not working with his students.

Tim has studied with Bill Schlitt, Naoko Takada, and Dr. Yuri Inoo.
