Ari Rosenberg Hájek


Ari Hajek

Ari Rosenberg Hájek is an American timpanist, percussionist, and drummer based in Detroit. He currently performs with the Michigan Philharmonic, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and freelances with other groups in the Detroit Metro area.

His professional career began at age 11, performing with the Rochester, Dearborn, Birmingham-Bloomfield, Macomb, Livonia, and Warren Symphonies. He has also performed as an extra percussionist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Oakland University at age 19, Ari went on to complete his Master’s Degree at Rutgers University, and two Advanced Music Studies certificates from Carnegie Mellon University. His major teachers and mentors have been Alan Abel, Joe Tompkins, Kyle Zerna, Brian Jones, Ian Ding, Dan Maslanka, Andrew  Spencer, Jeremy Branson, Chris Allen, Paul Evans, and Ed Stephan.

Ari is currently in the process of renovating an historic building which will soon be an active performance space in the City of Detroit. Ari Hájek proudly uses and endorses Artifact Percussion products.
