Chandler Baumgartner
Chandler Baumgartner is a percussionist, educator, composer, arranger, conductor, and audio engineer based in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Tulsa. His professional work spans music education, marching and concert percussion, composition and arranging, live audio, and performance.
Chandler serves as Percussion Coordinator for Verdigris Public Schools, where he works with percussionists across the district in both concert and marching settings. His approach to education emphasizes strong technical fundamentals, quality of sound, musical independence, and developing confident, versatile musicians.
In addition to his work as an educator, Chandler serves as Sound Engineer for Resistance Indoor Percussion, overseeing the deployment, operation, and troubleshooting of the ensemble’s live audio systems.
Chandler is an active performer and arranger at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where he serves as praise band drummer, timpanist, and arranger. He also performs regularly as a pit musician for musical theatre productions throughout the Tulsa area. His performance experience spans drum set, concert and marching percussion, musical theatre, wind ensemble, orchestral, and contemporary settings.
As a composer and arranger, Chandler writes for percussion, marching and concert ensembles, and interactive media. He also composes original music and creates sound effects for independent video game projects alongside a team of fellow military veterans.
Chandler has also held positions as Percussion Coordinator for the Tulsa Youth Symphony and as a percussion technician and arranger for the University of Tulsa’s Sound of the Golden Hurricane.
Prior to pursuing music professionally, Chandler served six and a half years in the United States Air Force as a Radar, Airfield, and Weather Systems technician and supervisor. His work encompassed RF, radar, communications, navigation, weather, networking, electrical, and electronic systems supporting U.S. and allied flight operations.
Chandler is proud to be an endorsed artist with Artifact Percussion and is an enthusiastic supporter of the company’s sticks and mallets. After experiencing firsthand the attention to detail, consistency, craftsmanship, and quality of Artifact’s products, he implemented Artifact Percussion sticks and mallets throughout the Verdigris High School marching band percussion program.
